The Industrial Innovation Initiative (I3) sent a letter to the United States (US) Senate Appropriations Committee and the US Senate Energy and Water Development Subcommittee to express support for critical industrial modernization funding through the US Department of Energy (DOE) as the FY27 appropriations process continues, stating the value of the DOE’s broader portfolio of industrial efficiency, advanced manufacturing, and clean energy technology programs.
The letter also underscored how the DOE’s Industrial Training and Assessment Centers (ITACs):
• cut costs for manufacturers;
• strengthen supply chain resilience and national security;
• develop the next generation of the industrial workforce; and
• lower energy costs and improve grid reliability.
